Due to the Corona Virus we have been out of action, but a recommencement has been possible and we are singing at the 2021 Carol Services.

We always welcome new members – visit our contact page for details.

About

The Washburn Valley Choir rehearses regularly on Monday evenings at St Oswald’s Church, Leathley. We sing on special occasions at the churches within the Washburn Valley.

After 4 years in its current format the choir continues to thrive and serve the churches of the valley; we currently number 6 Sopranos, 5 Altos, 4 Tenors and 5 Basses. We are supported by some very accomplished accompanists…!

We sing mainly at church services, but occasionally there is scope for performing at other celebrations, as evidenced by our Flower Festival appearance 2 years ago, when members of the Wharfe Valley Male Voice Choir and Madrigalis joined us to make a very happy sound.

We attend key church events, including Easter, Harvest and Christmas.

As choral director I encourage the choir to sing to their maximum capabilities in a friendly and positive atmosphere. We have tackled a wide range of repertoire and it is a continuous learning process.

Palm Sunday

The WVC sang two pieces at the Leathley Palm Sunday service – The Feast Of Palms by Alan Bullard, and Hosanna by Victoria.
